Purpose of the Role
Safety Risk Executive will be responsible for developing, delivering and maintaining IAG Cargo’s safety risk classification process which will underpin our approach to risk going forward. They will act as a key interface between IAGC and the IAG Group Operating Carriers to ensure continuity of reporting, using a risk-based approach to drive positive safety improvements on the ground and in the air.
With the ever-changing landscape of aviation, the successful candidate will also be required to deliver risk-based safety impact assessments to support management of change activities and will be responsible for leading corporate investigations into significant safety events.
The role holder will be accountable for effectively collaborating across all business areas to ensure regulatory safety standards are implemented and the IAG Cargo leadership team have visibility of the business’ safety risk performance and exposure.
Key Accountabilities
- Accountable for the end-to-end IAGC risk classification process
- Supporting the development of global safety standards and a single safety management manual
- Delivering safety impact assessments to support management of change initiatives
- Production of trend analysis, metric collection, analytics and reporting across all operations, ensuring transparency across the network
- Identifying safety risks and supporting the regional management teams and operating carriers in implementing improvement projects
- Advise and support the business through regulatory changes across the global network and operating carriers ensuring their effective implementation to maintain compliance
- Represent the interests of IAGC at Operating Carrier meetings

Qualifications
- Degree level or equivalent work experience
- NEBOSH, Risk Management certificate or equivalent (desirable)
- Fluent written and spoken English, Spanish language skills an advantage.
Experience
- Experience in risk management in an operational environment
- Background in aviation or the logistics industry (desirable)
- Exposure to regulatory frameworks
- IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (desirable)
