FACILITIES PROJECT MANAGER - SMALL & MINOR WORKS

The position is working with a Facilities and Building Maintenance company and will involve working in live occupied healthcare environments across an NHS contract they we have in the Bedford and Luton area.
The purpose of the role is to manage and deliver all financial and contractual aspects of small works/minor works projects which will include client variation, small projects, minor works and lifecycle works on the building fabric, M&E or re-modelling.
This could include for example; the changing of floor coverings in a specific area of a hospital, re-decoration, power installs, flooring, LED lighting upgrades, roofing works, asbestos removal, minor electrical works right the way through to repurposing of facilities refurbishing offices to service user spaces or inpatient rooms.
Value of works could be from £5k but generally up to no more than around £200k. It’s really the churn / conveyor belt style small value works we do but they will be some larger refurb projects on occasion.
The role is a full-lifecycle project management role, and key duties will include:
- Understand the Client requirement and undertake a full quotation for proposed works in accordance with the contract conditions.
- On larger value works, prepare in full all pricing documentation for review prior to submission.
- Identifying suitable subcontractors (or identifying through our operational teams suitable directly employed resource) to undertake the works
- Create and issue subcontractor orders
- Manage and supervise works including preparing and updating work programs, health and safety information, placing orders, overseeing site matters, reporting to clients, collating and submitting O&M information
- Attend design and site meetings as necessary to ensure that both client and tenders requirements are met in accordance with the agreed contract.
- Ensure quality assurance standards are met and that all legal requirements are adhered to
- Ensure all services are delivered in line with budgetary constraints and contractual requirements

The Successful candidate will have need to have SMSTS and previous project management ideally within a Facilities Management or Small / Minor works capacity
Desirable -
IOSH
Experience of projects for the NHS or healthcare environments
Understanding of HTM’s which is healthcare technology management this would be really beneficial but not essential
