The Hereford operation is the major European production facility in the Special Metals Energy Group and we now have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join the SMW team.
Role Overview:
The Project Manager is responsible for delivering the project on time and as per agreed specification, ensuring the project achieves all project goals and objectives in accordance with the agreed contracts for the Precision Castparts Corp. Energy group of companies (“PCC Energy Group”) globally.
You will act as the interface between Customer and the mill, taking responsibility for managing the project from bidding stage, order receipt, acknowledgement and through execution to the successful delivery of the material and full Customer satisfaction.
Essential Functions:
Performs contract review for ‘project orders’, generating instructions for Finance, Logistics, Planning, Manufacture, Testing and Certification, verifying that documentation meets all customer order requirements, both explicit and implied and that all information is verified, accurate and clean before releasing to production
- Lead the coordination of the project within various functions of the mill ensuring interfaces are considered and addressed at all stages of the project life-cycle.
- Organise 'kick-off' meeting with customers after award of order and to reconfirm the following: -
- All relevant specification documents are in place with customer to commence production
- Deadline as per agreed date for submission of documents and ITP (Testing Plans)
- Establish line of contact with customers for easy communication
- Expedite all like Quality documents and manage the Supplier Document Schedules to ensure timely submission and returns to ensure progress not impacted by late document submissions and responses
- Support the Commercial team in the preparation, submission and tracking of ECON (Contract Approvals), with strong emphasis on ownership of driving ECON to submitted status
- Maintenance of project tracker to ensure it correctly reflects the status of all open project orders and quotes
- Ownership of the Project Tracking Meeting to ensure all responsible functions are engaged and actively working to ensure successful completion of orders in line with the Project tracker timeline
- Regular follow up with various departments to ensure timely completion of these orders to support delivery of the materials
- Advise and/or conduct periodical review meetings with various functions of the mill and customers and provide feedback on the status of Purchase Order execution on timely basis
- Coordinate with QA and arrange relevant documents for Inspection Assignment Package submission
- Ensuring Pre-Inspection meetings are held in good time
- Submit weekly/monthly progress reports, follow up on payment invoices & bank guarantees
- Provide regular updates to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) including escalations, if concerned about progress to plan
Other Specific Responsibilities:
In this role, you will need to comply with all reasonable and lawful directions given to you by the Company or any other PCC Energy Group company and promptly prepare and issue such reports on such matters and at such times as are required.
- This will include complying with the Precision Castparts Corp. (“PCC”) Code of Conduct which includes anti-corruption and bribery policies and procedures at all times.

- You shall diligently exercise such powers and perform such duties as may from time to time be assigned to you by the Company or any company within the PCC group.
Education, Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; Business, Sales & Marketing or applicable field required. MBA or Masters is highly preferred
- 10+ years proven experience in a relevant business sector (such as Aerospace, Oil & Gas, Industrial) in project management/expediting
- Demonstrable experience in formulating, developing, recommending, and administering core process, strategies, plans, policies, and procedures
- Ability to interact and influence a cross-functional disciplined team
- Team Management – able to lead and manage members of the team providing goals and targets, performance management and growth, motivation and incentive(s), organisation and structure and direction

- Able to understand complex supply chains, and present PCC Metals product capabilities.
