About the Role
Strategic Project Manager - Warwick (hybrid working) - 12 month fixed term contract
National Grid Interconnectors is at the heart of UK’s transition to our net zero energy future. We operate a number of HVDC interconnectors that connect the UK’s energy system to some of our closest neighbours, allowing energy to be imported to and exported from the UK. As well as already owning a portfolio of HVDC Interconnectors, we’re working on developing new projects in order to ensure that we are able to meet the UK’s future demands for greener energy solutions.
You will support the strategy manager in our management of strategic programmes and bring together activities from different parts of NGV. You will support the development of the strategic capability of Interconnectors, feed this into internal planning and external submissions, have demonstrable stakeholder management skills and experience of strategic programmes of work.
What you'll be getting up to
- Lead the development of efficient approaches to manage cross-business programmes of work to shape innovative regulatory submissions;
- Work with Business Development teams, IJV Interconnectors, other NGV teams and finance to ensure alignment on strategic narrative and resulting plans;
- Shape the reporting and governance activities related to strategic implementation and delivery.
- Work with Market Fundamentals to understand and communicate the range of market scenarios underpinning Interconnectors strategies; incorporate scenario modelling into a vision of how and where we participate and influence a changing landscape
- Shape the strategic direction for the entity, including risk appetite, to grow the business, defend its core activities and deliver shareholder, customer and stakeholder value
- Develop high quality content and presentations for senior stakeholders explaining the market view and business strategy for Interconnectors;
- Become an adviser to interconnectors on all matters which relate to business strategy;
- Liaise with Corporate Affairs to input into briefings and ensure consistency of messages.
