Job description
This is an exciting new role in Surrey Heartlands, the post holder will lead the effective review and implementation of the Perinatal Pelvic Health Services (PPHS) across Surrey Heartlands Local Maternity and Neonatal Systems (LMNS) in line with the NHS Long Term Plan and Three year delivery plan for maternity and neonatal services. This will be a key role working within the LMNS and in wider partnership with the National Team and relevant stakeholders to ensure alignment of the LMNS perinatal pelvic health programme, and ambitions with the wider ICS development and National plans. The post holder will lead organisations and relevant physio, midwifery and obstetric teams across Surrey Heartlands, putting women and birthing people at the centre and ensuring that all services are coproduced. Hybrid working will be considered.
The post holder will provide expertise to Surrey Heartlands LMNS and hold the day-to-day responsibility and accountability for leading and delivering the LMNS local and national ambitions for perinatal pelvic health services through collaborative matrix working with all stakeholders. This includes:
- Embedding evidence-based practice in antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care to prevent and mitigate pelvic floor dysfunction from pregnancy and childbirth.
- Improving the rate of detection of pelvic floor issues antenatally and postnatally.
- Ensuring timely access to NICE recommended treatment for common pelvic health issues antenatally and postnatally and establishing clear pathways.
- Programme managing the development and role out of the new pelvic health service.
