Purpose
The Business Systems Analyst will be working in a cross functional technology team responsible for the bank's Customer data. The candidate requires broad knowledge of business and technology processes, interdependencies between upstream and downstream consumers, and regulatory drivers within the bank. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in delivering end-to-end software solution. The incumbent should be a self-starter and be able to work independently with little or no supervision. They should have strong communication skills, a client focused mindset, and take accountability and ownership of tasks.
Accountabilities
Collaborates with business partners, developers and vendors to ensure the successful delivery of projects that align with business strategies and roadmaps.- Participate in end-to-end project delivery including creation of user stories, coordination and management of project stakeholders, root cause analysis, IST/QAT testing, steady state support model and post implementation support.
- Ability to articulate and write clear and concise documentation for complex technical problems or solutions in a business-friendly language.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks to meet the tight project timelines and prioritize the work efforts accordingly which may result in extended working hours during peak time to meet project deliverables.
- Work as a liaison among various business and technology teams to ensure strategic alignment for the solutions being considered/implemented.
- Collaborates with project team to influence change transformation initiatives at all levels of the organization and possesses strong project management capabilities to ensure effective and successful delivery of process efficiency solutions
- Understands the business from several points of view and aligns technology systems and processes to address critical information and automation requirements.
- A strong understanding of the SDLC process and various delivery methodologies including waterfall and agile.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to focus with close attention to detail
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

- Prioritize multiple projects and completing the necessary analysis and documentation under tight project timelines Working in a cross-functional technology team
- Supporting critical customer data (onboarding, maintenance, inquiries) processes for the whole bank
- Working with multiple stakeholders and collaborating with various teams
- Keep up with the industry standards and help the bank comply with mandatory requirements
- Proficient in modern script and coding languages.
Education / Experience
2+ years of hands-on technical experience as a Business System Analyst- Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Sciences, or equivalent.
- Project management knowledge in order to work with large & complex project teams.
- Ability to adapt at working in both Agile and traditional Waterfall SDLC methodologies
- Excellent communication skills (verbal/written/presentation).
