The Role
Just Farm is looking for an experienced project manager to lead the delivery of this pioneering 2 year programme which will design and develop a 20 year agreement across the local landscape on secondment to the cluster.
Working closely with landowners, farmers, key stakeholders and DEFRA, the pilot project will develop the process and respective management plans. This will lead to preparation and delivery to improve water quality, restore wildlife along three rivers and reconnect the community with the environment within the local landscape. In doing so, farmers and landowners will access long term sustainable funding streams that deliver important ecosystem services, supporting nature's recovery.
Primary Responsibilities
A fantastic opportunity to take ownership of a pioneering landscape scale restoration project. Working with a variety of disciplines, stakeholders and clients, addressing some of the key challenges facing the wider UK farmed and natural environment
● Lead and enable partners and stakeholders to design and develop a plan for a new 2+ year project, delivered over a phased 20 year implementation
● Ensure consistent approach across the key components within the master plan for project delivery
● Engage a diverse range of stakeholders with different goals and interests
● Establish a collaborative, positive and profitable relationship with all key stakeholders, ensuring good communication
● Manage and report on project budget and cash flow
● Create and support feedback to DEFRA of the pilot scheme
● Reporting - the qualifying candidate will liaise weekly to the Project Director, monthly to the Project Steering Group and quarterly to DEFRA. The business CEO will provide support on a day to day basis where needed
Skills Required
● Experienced project manager, particularly in pioneering circumstances ● Demonstrable proof of delivering projects
● Industry experience not essential but beneficial
● Adept at identifying, navigating and leading others through change
● Natural problem solver who thrives in a busy environment
● Proven experience in building effective relationships and enhancing the commercial reputation of the business with stakeholders, partners and clients
● Leadership skills with a strong sense of initiative
● Effective communicator
● Embrace technology with ability to learn new software
● Competent user of Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
● Full driving license

Aiming to protect and enhance the natural environment by increasing biodiversity; habitat, water and air quality as well as improving natural flood management in the farmed landscape. Defra’s new Environmental Land Management schemes (ELMs) is piloting the Landscape Recovery tier as a pioneering new approach to bring farmers together to deliver this at scale and with increased ambition.
Challenging the status quo has quickly led Just Farm to become recognised as a leading force in this sector. In turn this presented the opportunity to work alongside one of the largest farmer clusters in England, winning a national pilot Landscape Recovery Agreement on behalf of The North East Cotswold Farmer Cluster in late 2022.
