Job Description
Role
As an Project Architect in the Glasgow AECOM office, you will be working in a fast pace office as part of a multi-disciplinary design team delivering full design service on projects primarily in and defence sectors (including industrial, healthcare, office spaces, listed buildings, etc) in Scotland and England. Working alongside design leads from other disciplines you will have the opportunity to lead architectural/project design deliverables on projects from inception through to construction.
Your work will require collaboration across our own multi-disciplinary team and across the wider business where you will be supported to engage and collaborate with other consultancy teams.
Although the successful applicant will be based out of AECOM’s Glasgow City Centre office, applicants should be available for regular travel to sites across Scotland and the North of England. Technical Requirements
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe and Microsoft Office Programmes
- Proficient in Revit
- Strong lead discipline experience
- Strong understanding of the English and Scottish Building Regulations
- Familiar with statutory consent procedures in Scotland
- Familiar with preparation of NBS Specifications
- Understanding of BIM Level 2 project requirements and processes
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work in varying environments (office, home, site etc.)
- Ability to speak in public and lead design team and client meetings
- Self-motivated and pro-active with ability to work collaboratively and also deliver as an individual
Due to the work the team undertake you must be a UK National and have been in the UK for 5 years. This is a requirement to gain security clearance and includes a disclosure check.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Experience
- Chartered Architect - Chartered Architect (5 years+)
- Experience working on defence and education sector projects (desirable)
- Experience working on master planning projects
- Experience of running/working on multiple jobs simultaneously
- Experience working with multi-stakeholder clients and framework project delivery
- Experience working on projects in Scotland and England
- Experience of completing sustainability assessments
