About the Role
As a Maths Tutor for our Multiply programmes, you will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality numeracy sessions to adult learners. Your core role will involve supporting learners in building confidence, improving their skills in using numbers, and developing a strong foundation in basic maths concepts, problem-solving skills, and critical thinking abilities. By utilising imaginative teaching techniques, you will create a positive learning environment that makes maths less daunting and more enjoyable. You will assess learners' abilities, create individualised learning plans, provide ongoing support and guidance, and monitor their progress.
Collaboration with fellow tutors and programme stakeholders is crucial to ensure a coordinated and cohesive learning experience. Keeping up with advancements in maths education and integrating relevant resources will enhance teaching practices. Accurate record-keeping, fostering inclusivity, and contributing to programme self-assessment are also key responsibilities in this role. About You
As a Maths Tutor, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences for our learners. To succeed in this role, you must demonstrate subject competence and hold a recognised teaching qualification such as Cert Ed, PGCE, DTLLS, or a commitment to obtaining one. Proficiency in English and maths, with a minimum grade C/4 at GCSE level, is essential. Additionally, you should be ICT proficient, particularly in the use of Microsoft Office products.
We are looking for candidates with a proven track record of delivering high-quality teaching and learning. You should be able to apply effective teaching approaches to multiple levels and target audiences. Your knowledge of the best ways to support learning and familiarity with the Functional Skills maths curriculum will be invaluable. As a Maths Tutor, you will need to apply effective teaching approaches to diverse learners, demonstrating patience, empathy, and a supportive attitude while adapting teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential, along with strong interpersonal skills. You should possess exceptional planning and prioritisation abilities, as well as excellent administrative and organisational skills. Being a team player is crucial, as you will work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a flexible and dynamic team environment.
