Our company is a leading manufacturer, specialising in the production of tailored conservatories, expertly crafted at affordable prices. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Supervisor to join our dynamic team working within our 20,000 square feet office and factory space, with state-of-the-art design and manufacturing facilities.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual with supervisory experience, expertise in TIG and MIG welding, coupled with a background in quality control, to join our fast-growing business, on a full time, permanent basis.
Responsibilities
- Hands on participation in manufacturing processes to aid the achievement of weekly production targets.
- Supervise and oversee the daily operations of the production floor, ensuring adherence to production schedules, safety guidelines, and quality standards.
- Provide leadership and guidance to a team of production workers, motivating them to achieve production targets and maintain a high level of quality.
- Monitor and optimise production processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing effective strategies to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure proper usage of TIG and MIG welding techniques, guaranteeing high-quality welds and compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with the quality control team to develop and implement quality assurance procedures, ensuring that all products meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Train and develop production staff, conducting performance evaluations and providing constructive feedback to enhance individual and team performance.
- Maintain accurate production records, including daily production reports, inventory levels, and any relevant documentation required for quality control purposes.
- Coordinate with other departments, such as resource and maintenance, to ensure the availability of necessary materials and equipment for seamless production operations.
Person Specification
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing environment.
- Extensive expertise in TIG and MIG welding techniques, with a proven track record of producing high-quality welds.
- Knowledge of quality control processes and standards, including the ability to conduct inspections, implement corrective actions, and ensure compliance.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse workforce.
- Proficient in analysing production data and implementing process improvements to optimise efficiency and productivity.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with cross-functional teams and coordinate production activities.
- Detail-oriented mindset, emphasising precision and accuracy in all aspects of work.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a manufacturing setting.
- Relevant certifications in welding.
