Park Cakes is a c£180 million business which supplies cake and desserts to service the own brands of major retailers.

Our products include, high end celebration cake products, slab cakes and mainstream desserts, we mostly supply Marks & Spencer’s although we also supply major retailers including Sainsbury’s, Tesco’s and Morrisons.

We currently have a vacancy for an experienced Planner to join a small team based at our Oldham site.

Key example accountabilities:

  • Produce accurate production plans, both daily and weekly while working within constraints
  • Work closely with Production teams to efficiently utilise Labour and Production resource time
  • Responsible for agreed stock holding levels of both finished goods and work in progress
  • Input and manage data flow into the Planning software (PREACTOR) and ensure its accuracy with regular reporting
  • Actively liaise with Distribution, Purchasing and Production departments to ensure effective Planning and the resolution of any issues.
  • Produce reports for various departments to monitor production progress on customer requirements and manage service levels to the customer.
  • Provide planning forecasts in order to predict labour /agency and capacity
  • MRP daily runs and long-term Planning Horizon accuracy within SAP
  • Manage stock levels to meet customer and business needs

Ideal Attributes and Experience:

  • A good level of IT skills, including excel
  • Experience of Production Planning in an FMCG, preferably within the food or perishable goods industry
  • Knowledge and understanding of the MRP process preferably with SAP experience
  • Ability to stay calm and think logically under pressure
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to building strong working relationships and work within multiple teams
  • Operate in a flexible working environment including hours of work

Hours: You will ideally working Monday to Thursday 5am till 2pm and Friday 5am till 1pm, however we would consider an alternative working hours of Monday to Thursday 6am till 3pm and Friday 6am till 2pm.

Package: Salary between £30,000 to £35,000 dependent upon experience, 25 days a year plus 8 statutory bank holidays, Money purchase pension scheme with contribution of salary, Discount scheme operating across several online and high street retailers
