Summary of the role:
We’re currently looking for an experienced Graphic Designer to join The Kitchen Depot team. Supporting the Head of Marketing, key stakeholders, and Franchisee group in top-line brand campaign executions and local activations, by providing relevant and engaging visual content that is optimised for each channel promoting our brand and product offering.
You'll have the opportunity to work on a mix of traditional and digital executions. The ideal candidate will work in a creative environment and work closely with our in-house marketing team, local print suppliers and local media companies.
As the in-house Graphic Designer, you will provide visual material for print and digital platforms. The role will oversee the creation of ads, magazines/brochures, product and campaign branding, digital media, social content, newsletters, interior point of sale and external signage.
Job Purpose:
On a day-to-day basis, you will lead brand-centric design projects within the Marketing function and drive the brand forward, owning its development and integration to the wider marketing strategy.
The ideal candidate must be enthusiastic, creative, and organised. To successfully perform the role, the ideal candidate will be a well-rounded Graphic Designer with experience of managing print and web design projects as well as experience in motion design for social executions.
Core responsibilities include ownership of The Kitchen Depot’s brand guidelines and ensuring all content adheres, producing physical brochures and marketing collateral, and identifying and executing development opportunities for the brand.
Responsibilities:
- Manage graphic design projects from concept to final execution and building design into the wider marketing plan.
- Maintaining and developing brand guidelines, ensuring brand consistency throughout all external and internal communications.
- Support brand building and development; you will help to conceptualise new brands and evolve our existing ones. This will include updating the brand guidelines, developing new brand assets.
- Manage external companies such as printers, photographers, and videographers to ensure deadlines are met and assets are produced to the highest quality. Liaising with external printers or production teams to ensure deadlines are met and material is printed or presented to the highest quality.
- Create visual content and designs for marketing campaigns and collateral, including print and digital advertising/promotional campaigns, email banners, infographics and animations, assets, and POS.
- Preparing rough drafts of material based on an agreed brief and seeing the design brief through to fruition and sign off.
- Keeping stakeholders and Head of Marketing up to date, acting on feedback, and explaining the rationale behind graphic design decisions.
- Build strong relationships with Franchisee owners, providing informative responses and clarification on ongoing projects. Working with franchisee and stakeholder’s ideas and managing their expectations.
- Developing concepts, graphics, and layouts, including making decisions about fonts, images, readability, and readers’ needs.
- Working with product team, to create brochures, product manuals and product bulletins- keeping these up to date and ensuring they are accurate.
- Determining size and arrangement of copy and illustrative material, as well as font style and size.
Skills and Experience Required:
- 3 + years’ experience in a graphic design role within a marketing environment.
- Excellent IT skills, especially with design and photo-editing software. (Adobe Suite InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, After Affects, Premier Pro & Acrobat)
- Exceptional creativity and innovation.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Expertise in layout, typography and imagery coupled with impeccable eye for detail and accuracy.
- Experience in animation for social campaign executions (text motion).
- An interest in interior design and understanding of the latest design trends and how to apply them to a commercial environment.
- Excellent communication and good people skills, confident at presenting and able to communicate ideas.
- Professional approach to time, costs, and deadlines.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects within the constraints of timelines and budgets.
