The Opportunity
This is a chance to join a reputable Printing & Signage Manufacturing company who are expanding due to key account wins over the last 12 months. Our client is looking to expand the production team to meet client demand.
The production planner (also known as Bill Of Materials Planner) is required to retain strong relationships with the accounts and production teams.
The primary responsibility is to manage and maintain the bill of materials, which is a comprehensive list of all the components, parts, and raw materials required to produce a signage products. This document is crucial for manufacturing, supply chain management, and product development processes.
The Role
- Liaising with the contracts team to determine the customer requirement for the signage.
- Liaising with production operatives to determine the most up to date and efficient processes and materials to be utilise for the manufacture of the signage in the most cost-effective way.
- Liaising with purchasing to ensure the sign uses the most cost-effective materials and suppliers to manufacture the signs.
- Create the bill of materials on ERP system reflecting an accurate predicted time for each operation and correct quantity of materials.
- Maintain effective stock material utilisation.
- Monitor any deviation to the implemented bill of materials.
- Reflect any changes that occur during production.
- Report any cost efficiencies that can be achieved.
Skills Required
- Methodical approach with excellent attention to detail
- Competent in following procedures
- Capable in MS Office & (knowledge of ERP or M1 systems is advantageous)
- Good communication skills
- Time Keeping
