Job description

The Reform Club is one of the most prestigious, and oldest, private members’ club in London and we have an opportunity for an experienced and passionate Receptionist to join our established front of house team working shifts between the hours of 8am and 11pm, Monday to Friday.

The Receptionist role comes with:

The Role

The Front of House team are the public face of the Club and act as ambassadors for its various activities e.g. membership, events, chambers (bedrooms), venue hire etc. As a key member of this team, the role holder will have responsibility for the comfort and safety of all members and guests visiting the Clubhouse and also promote the Club’s membership, events and facilities. The role holder also supports colleagues in the hospitality team in ensuring the smooth running of member activities in the building, covering a wide range of tasks to support members, guests and staff.

The role will be 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, working a variety of shifts on a rota basis from 8am to 4pm; 12pm to 8pm or 3pm to 11pm.

Requirements for the role:

  • Fluent level of the English language, both written and verbal
  • At least 1 years’ experience in a similar role within a 4 or 5 star Hotel or private members’ club
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and telephone manner
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft MS (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook) and room booking software
  • Customer service experience.
  • Experience operating switchboards
  • Ability to communicate confidently with individuals of all levels, including senior staff and Members of the Club (including VIPs)
  • Excellent grooming and presentation.
  • Ability to remain calm and assured in the face of an emergency
  • Experience of working in an events environment would also be desirable, but not essential.
