What is the job role?
We are searching for a Production Operative to join our team at Gael Force Marine Equipment Limited, moorings division based at our headquarters in Inverness. We are looking for the right attitude, so even if you feel the skills are not aligned, we can offer excellent training opportunities.
What were looking for:
This role will accurately assemble, and despatch moorings systems as specified to the required standards.
This is a physically demanding role requiring a lot of hard work, repetition and an eye for attention and detail will be essential.
The key objectives of the role are:
- Completing incoming Quality assurance checks to ensure highest quality
- Read and understand all special instructions and CAD drawings provided prior to starting a job and seeking clarity with the Moorings Manager as required.
- To pick, measure cut and splice ropes (splicing training will be given) accurately to construct moorings components
- To accurately pick hardware, chain, shackles, thimbles etc whilst maintaining correct stock rotation.
- To load any despatches using plant accurately and safely as permitted.
- Assisting in the accuracy of stock through daily administrative duties and carrying out stock checks when required.
- Assisting in other departments when required to ensure smooth overall operations
- Interact with customers in a helpful courteous manner at all times.
- Overtime working may be required.
What youll need:
Required
- Ability to concentrate under pressure
- Ability to work without supervision
- Ability to follow procedures
- Putting stock away
- Picking stock correctly whilst maintaining correct stock rotation
- Making up and despatching orders
Desirable
- Counterbalance and/or Telescopic forklift certificate
- Abrasive wheels certificate
- Cutting torch experience
- COSHH awareness
- Manual handling training
- Competent use of IT systems

In return for working a 39-hour week with an earlier finish on a Friday, we are offering a competitive hourly which rises after successful probation, with a generous staff discount on over 10,000 product lines instore, and a cycle to work scheme. Annual leave commences at 30 days per annum, increasing with length of service.
