The Role
A-1 Jays Machining, Inc. is looking to hire a full time Estimator that specializes in producing quotes in a machine shop environment. The ideal candidate will have an expansive knowledge of quoting parts for: 3 axis, 5 axis CNC Mill, CNC Lathe, Wire EDM, Lapping, and Grinding. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a CNC Machinist would make an ideal candidate for this position.
Responsibilities
- Analyzing required documents, blueprints and project plans to gain a thorough understanding of the project
- Preparing material estimates and cost estimates for the quote
- Developing and maintaining relationships with company vendors and contractors
- Managing bids from vendors and contractors
- Using bid data to prepare a detailed quote
Requirements
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Flexible, ability to work in a fast pace environment
- Microsoft Office, Word and Excel experience a plus
- Job Boss familiarity
- Machinist background (min. 5 years of experience)
- Ability to quote parts for the following sectors: 3 axis, 5 axis CNC Mill, CNC Lathe, Wire EDM, Lapping, and Grinding

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40.00 - $60.00 per hour

Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- CNC milling machine: 3 years (Required)
- CNC lathe: 3 years (Required)
- Lapping: 3 years (Required)
- Manual Machining: 3 years (Required)
- 3 Axis/5 Axis Machining: 3 years (Required)
