Job Brief
You will be working in a factory environment as part of a team, on a production line that manufactures paint and wood protection products. At all times work safely, to promote the production of the quality products that our customers require.
Responsibilities we’ll trust you with:
- Manufacturing or filling of products on a specific machine or process to satisfy production requirements.
- Ensuring production operations are carried out to an effective standard and with efficiency, so the production schedule is achieved – promote a self-managing approach.
- Ensuring the workload is carried out effectively in collaboration with Supervisor and Planning, including updating scheduling boards, where necessary.
- To follow standard operating procedures (SOP’s) where relevant.
- Ensuring that the quality of the product is accurate and the correct quality checks are completed during production/filling.
- Promoting working relationships with other relevant departments, for example Engineering, Filling/Packing, Quality etc.
- General housekeeping, including 5‘s, are to be maintained during their shift.
- Cross cover and deputise for other Operators in case of absence and annual leave as required, as well as deputising in other areas as required.
- Being actively involved in two-way communication and the development and introduction of improvement initiatives.
- Appropriate training to be undertaken as required of the post.
- Problem solving – changeover, cleaning, simple maintenance tasks.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Pay & Work/Life Balance
We offer annualised hours contract due to a seasonal business demands with a pay of £26,645.28 per annum. We also offer shift premium of 25% for working night shifts and 35% for working weekend shifts.
You would be required to work a variety of shifts such as Monday – Friday 6AM - 2PM / 2PM - 10PM and occasionally 10PM - 6AM and a weekend shift.

Candidate Requirements
• Experience of manufacturing or machine operations preferred, or the aptitude and desire to learn and work well in this environment
- Meets defined standards of reading, writing and speaking using the English language
- Able to work shifts including nights and, at peak times, weekends
- After training, able to work effectively within a small team, on own initiative without close supervision on a self-managing basis
- Methodical, disciplined, keen attention to detail, easily able to follow standard procedures.
