Job description
LevertonHELM manufactures a range of inorganic Lithium chemicals which are sold throughout the world. It is now expanding rapidly due to the growth of the Lithium-ion battery sector and has an excellent reputation for reliability and providing high quality products.
Job Purpose
To carry out the chemical manufacturing processes involved in the day to day operations in a safe and timely manner and in line with approved procedures.
Key Tasks
- Handling of hazardous chemicals.
- Carrying out chemical reactions and processes.
- Recording of quantities used in processes.
- Carrying out simple in production analytical testing.
- Regular cleaning and housekeeping of plant equipment and general factory area.
- Movement of chemicals using FLT.
- Packing chemicals both solutions and powders.
- Operating chemical plant.
- Carrying out simple day to day maintenance of chemical plant.
Knowledge, experience & skills
The job holder must:
- It is paramount to be fluent in English with exceptional verbal and written communication skills. The ability to tailor style to different audiences is also key and this attribute will be assessed at interview.
- Have basic numeracy
- Have a good level of literacy as the training involves significant reading of procedures and safety information.
- Be physically fit and strong. The job is physically demanding requiring movement of chemical sacks and drums and requires daily use of personal protective equipment including dust and gas masks, gloves, goggles etc.
Previous experience in a factory environment would be advantageous.
