Job description
We look forward to reading your application for the role of HR Adviser.
The selected candidate will provide HR Generalist and project support to the Senior HR Business Partner team to ensure that all College HR policy is legally compliant, adopts best practice, and is implemented to ensure consistency. You will Provide line managers and employees with first level, accurate and quality advice and support on people and organisational development matters for College staff to enable the HR team to deliver a high degree of professional HR customer service.
Person specification
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Developing strong customer-focused relationships with line managers, employees and HR colleagues and work with them to address and resolve issues in line with College policies and protocols.
- Provide effective individual and/or team-based coaching, support, advice and guidance to staff and managers on the application of College policies and procedures in learning and professional development, performance management, employee support and assessment of development needs, to raise College performance and capability.
- Engage with line managers, employees and HR Business Partners to specify and devise appropriate solutions to meet individual, team or organisational development needs, preparing comprehensive plans to support implementation and/or delivery.
To be successful in this role you’ll need:
- Level 4 qualification (e.g. CIPD accredited, Certificate in Training Practice), or significant relevant experience in related area.
- Demonstrable experience in HR organisational development and People polices with a track record of providing accurate advice, support and solutions to a consistently high standard.
- Demonstrable experience of interpreting, developing and updating HR policies and procedures, devising and delivering training and coaching around these.

Eligibility:

This role is available to as a fixed term appointment to all applicants or as a secondment opportunity until 31 December 2023 to:
- colleagues employed directly by the College or the Civil Service. Please note you will be required to obtain the written support of your line manager prior to submitting your application. Temporary promotion is available.
- serving police staff at the equivalent rank of Sergeant who have their chief officer's approval. Chief Officer’s approval must be of NPCC rank, i.e., CC, ACC or DCC. Approval for a secondment must accompany an application.

Whilst this fixed term contract is offered on the understanding that it will only last as long as the stated contract length, there could be a possibility that it could be extended or made permanent should circumstances allow.
