GSK Barnard Castle is a key secondary manufacturing site and has invested heavily in industry 4.0 state of the art, bespoke equipment to support sustained new product introductions and volume increases, and as a key supplier of some of GSK’s blockbuster products, the site contributes revenues of ~$2Bn annually.
As a whole GSK’s Global Supply Chain Business operates at impressive scale, producing over 1.7 billion packs of medicine and 767 million vaccine doses annually with a special purpose in mind, to unite science, technology, and talent to get ahead of disease together.

The successful candidate will lead a team of Managers demonstrating a culture of Care, Focus, Develop and Motivate behaviours and who are responsible for ensuring that business objectives are met on time and carried out in compliance with current safety and quality standards.
In this role you will…
- Deliver Inhalations & Dermatologicals (I&D) financial, compliance and operational targets.
- Manage and participate as appropriate department supplier relationship management, Safety, Quality, Scheduling, and Project Meetings.
- Demonstrate supply team behaviours and thinking – always do the right thing for the supply team even if this is not the best for your own function
- Front and co-ordinate internal and external audits of the department.
- Be able to represent the company with external visitors and suppliers.
- Manage Projects associated with the area and achieve set targets as agreed with the Supply Team Director
- Stand in for Supply Team Director in their absence as required.
- Work with the team to improve Quality, Safety and Cost Performance through the utilisation of GPS.
Our Global Supply Chain (GSC) business is responsible for making and supplying our pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical products around the globe. The GSC organisation is involved with every production stage from the infrastructure of the manufacturing sites, supply forecasting, regulatory inspections, and the product’s quality.

- Graduate Educated to Degree level or equivalent in relevant Scientific or Engineering Qualification.
- Extensive experience of operations management with the manufacturing sector.
- Management and development of team of Zone Leaders and First Line Leaders.
- Understanding of Industrial Relations and their impact on the business.
- Should be enthusiastic and hold a strong belief in the aims, targets and success of I&D Supply Team
