Omnis Investments are a specialist investment company whose investment funds are available exclusively through Financial Advisers that are part of The Openwork Partnership - one of the largest personal financial advice networks in the UK with over 4,500 financial advisers, based in nearly 700 firms, and supported by 650 colleagues in central teams.

Omnis is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (“FCA”) and is the Authorised Corporate Director to the [UCITS] Omnis ICVCs, and the operator of 26 sub funds. In this capacity Omnis conducts various activities that are regulated by the FCA. Omnis operates a largely outsourced operating model and utilises best of breed partners to conduct its day-to-day activities. However, Omnis retains accountability for any outsourced activities and oversees the contracted third parties, utilising agreed Service Level Agreement deliverables, reporting, data analysis and trend analysis, all serviced through regular and collaborative relationship management.

The Opportunity

Due to internal promotion, we are seeking a Fund Accounting Officer to provide support to the Fund Accounting team who take responsible for Omnis Investment Limited’s fund accounting and pricing activities. You'll ensure that NAVs and the fund accounts are produced in an accurate and timely manner and take responsibility for the analysis of every aspect of the portfolios’ structures, holdings and fund accounting activities to support accurate pricing.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Support the Fund Accounting Manager in delivering all fund accounting and pricing questions and issues.
  • Perform any investigative and reconciliation tasks required in accordance with written procedures.
  • Provide a range of cash, stock and treasury reconciliations as part of the third-party administrator oversight process (i.e. bank account reviews, cash & stock breaks, CIS rebates and treasury). This involves producing and maintaining several complex spreadsheets.
  • Produce or review a number of fund accounting outputs associated with the Omnis funds including: OCFs/SRRIs/costs and charges data/with-holding tax etc.
  • Review all fund expense payments, prepare fund expense invoices for sign off, and investigate items, as necessary.
  • Support the Fund Accounting Manager in producing an annual expense budget (fund accruals) and monitor actual versus forecast numbers. Produce regular fund expense management information for meetings and Committees.
  • Maintain detailed and up-to-date portfolio of holdings data and associated accounting treatments.
  • Act on and support Pricing Policy and decisions made within the Valuation Committee and the Valuation Policy Oversight Committee.
  • Support the funds’ annual and interim accounts production processes as required. This may include co-ordination of inputs from the third party administrator and fund auditor; the objective being to ensure delivery within agreed timescales and accounting standards.
  • Provide tailored financial reports and MI to other Openwork entities and Omnis Board and Committees, as required.
  • Support on-site thematic and risk based audits of outsourced fund accounting and custody services provided by third party administrators.
  • Produce and maintain the data for the Omnis Fund Fact Sheets, Sales Information Documents and KIIDs. Activities include utilising StatPro, collating data and information, undertaking quality assurance checks, obtaining compliance sign off and publication.
  • Be able to support DFM asset allocation and rebalancing tasks on all Platforms.
  • Create and maintain internal processes and procedures for the full spectrum of activities covered by the role.

What will you need to succeed?

  • An experienced fund services and operations professional.
  • Experience of managing critical service management agreements and contracts.
  • As a minimum, has achieved the CISI Investment Operations Certificate (“IOC”), or equivalent.
  • Experience of new fund launches and corporate actions.
  • A detailed understanding of each stage of the trade lifecycle (e.g. trade placement, settlements, custody, second scheme treatment, rebates etc.).
  • A detailed understanding of pricing principles agreed under a Price Source Agreement.
  • A detailed understanding of UCITS collective investment schemes.
  • Third Party service provider/oversight management skills. The Jobholder will be required to challenge and direct State Street, ensuring they deliver services to the agreed Service Level Agreements.
  • A good understanding of investment platforms and UK distribution structures.
  • Maintain a good understanding of industry best practice with regards to Conduct Risk, Consumer Duty and “Customer Outcomes”.
  • Bloomberg, StatPro and Financial Express data usage an advantage.
  • Reasoned decision maker.
  • Financial modelling and reporting skills.
  • Analytical to evaluate data.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • In-depth Excel spreadsheet knowledge and macro development capability.
  • Takes responsibility for own workload and is delivery focused.
