We believe that our future digital innovation can make a significant impact by connecting employers, renewable professionals, national industry associations, and training providers. By doing so, we can meet the growing demand for renewable energy and help create a better tomorrow for all.

That’s why we need a passionate and dedicated Product Owner with solid project management capability to join our team and help us manage our initial project and design the future platform. As a Product Owner, you will play a crucial role in shaping the platform’s vision and strategy and ensuring that it aligns with our overall mission.

Here’s what your role as a Product Owner will entail:

  • Visionary and Strategist: You will have a clear vision of the platform’s long-term goals and strategies, aligning them with the overall mission of our EdTech company.
  • Stakeholder Advocate: You will act as the voice of various stakeholders and ensure their needs and concerns are understood and addressed in the product roadmap.
  • Requirements Manager: You will gather, prioritise, and manage stakeholder requirements to define and update the product backlog.
  • Product Roadmap Developer: You will develop a strategic and actionable product roadmap that outlines the features, enhancements, and improvements to be made over time.
  • Collaborator: You will work closely with cross-functional teams such as developers, designers, content creators, and marketing to ensure the smooth execution of the product vision.
  • Decision Maker: You will make informed decisions with the senior management team about feature prioritisation, trade-offs, and scope adjustments based on stakeholder feedback, market trends, and business goals.
  • Project Planning: You will develop comprehensive project plans in accordance with established budgets, outlining tasks, milestones, timelines, resource allocation, and dependencies.
  • Resource Coordination: You will coordinate with all stakeholders to maintain adherence to the agreed project plan and milestones to ensure optimal project execution.
  • Risk Management: You will identify potential risks and issues impacting project timelines or quality and develop mitigation strategies. You will advise key parties of unmitigated material risks.
  • Communication Facilitator: You will act as a central point of communication between cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and management to ensure everyone is aligned on project progress and objectives.
  • Scope Management: You will manage the project scope, ensuring that changes are properly evaluated and approved before implementation.
  • Quality Assurance: You will implement processes and checks to maintain the quality of the platform, including testing, bug tracking, and performance monitoring.

To succeed in this role, you will need the following capabilities:

  • Domain Knowledge: You should have a deep understanding of the renewables, workforce planning and training sectors, including the needs of employers, professionals, industry bodies, and education & training providers, and emerging trends in educational technology.
  • Market Awareness: You should stay updated on the competitive landscape, emerging technologies, and industry best practices related to Renewables, workforce planning, and EdTech.
  • User-centric Thinking: You should be able to empathise with users and design solutions that enhance their educational experiences.
  • Strategic Planning: You should formulate a clear and coherent product strategy aligning with the company’s objectives.
  • Problem Solving: You should address challenges and roadblocks effectively, finding creative solutions to complex issues.
  • Project Lifecycle Knowledge: You should have demonstrable experience with project management methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches and the ability to apply the appropriate methodology to different projects.
  • Risk Assessment: You should be able to assess potential risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies.
  • Resource Allocation: You should be skilled in assigning tasks to team members based on their strengths and expertise and ensuring efficient resource utilisation.

In addition, you should have the following skills:

  • Communication: You should possess strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate project vision and goals, status updates, expectations, and feedback to team members and stakeholders.
  • Prioritisation: You are skilled in prioritising features and tasks based on user impact, business value, and technical feasibility.
  • Analytical Thinking: You should be able to analyse data and metrics to make informed decisions.
