Job description

PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU ARE A NURSE WITH AN NMC REGISTRATION.

Caburn Wardis a 17 bedded Female Acute ward in Hove. We have staff nurse vacancies for newly qualified nurses and those with experience who are looking to further their professional development and are looking for a new challenge. For Newly Qualified Nurses ourPreceptorship Academy will help to give you the very best start in your transition from Student to Registered Nurse.

Caburn Ward is lucky to have a Clinical Nurse Specialist in post, who will support you as a staff nurse in your professional development. We recently held a development day for the nurses on Caburn ward, facilitated by our Clinical Nurse Specialist. This focused on building confidence in clinical practice and furthering development. The feedback from those who attended was positive, allowing for the team to discuss improvements that can be made to the ward. We will be supporting our nurses to attend these development days on a regular basis, which would be of benefit & accessible to a successful candidate. We also offer regular team meetings, reflective practice & supervision

Our shared values at Mill View are important to us, we are one hospital, not individual areas and wards that work in isolation. We look after each other and support each other, particularly during the hard times. Your voice and concerns are important to the leadership team and we encourage you to talk about areas of concern and empower you to implement positive change

Working within a supportive clinically led team, you will have the opportunity to really work in partnership with patients - engaging, supporting and developing a relationship which really enables the recovery process. With a real commitment to improving care delivery, as part of our team you will be supporting quality improvements and initiatives that will enhance the patient experience. Many QI projects and change ideas are currently in the process of being implemented on Caburn Ward and we actively encourage our team members to lead on projects that they feel will positively impact on patient, carer and staff experience of the service.

Our vision is to provide outstanding care and treatment you can be confident in. To achieve the highest standards we have already embarked on a programme to transform the culture of the Trust to one of continuous improvement, delivered through participation of all staff and with service users, carers and families at the heart of our efforts.

This post offers a Golden Hello, or a Relocation package up to a maximum of £2000. (pro rata applies and subject to terms and conditions. Please see attached Protocol document).

We’re a large NHS Mental Health Trust in South East England. We’re looking for people to help us provide high quality services for the patients, carers and local communities we serve.

We would like to create an environment where service users, nurses, nurse associates, nursing assistants and carers are all leaders and actively involved in making decisions about our services.

We’d love you to join our organisation that is rated ‘good’ overall and ‘outstanding’ for caring by the Care Quality Commission. Our staff agree, with 82% of people in our recent staff survey telling us that they recognise that care for patients is our top priority.

We encourage flexible working. We know that a positive work/ life balance brings about huge health-related benefits, which has a positive impact on the care we provide. Please speak to us about flexible working, for example, home-working, part time hours, flexible start/ finish times or anything else. If it works for you and works for the role, we'll do our best to make it happen.

We are committed to investing in our staff in order to provide you with further training and development to enhance leadership skills. To help our staff thrive in their roles we offer regular, good quality supervision, appraisals, in-depth training and development opportunities. On the wards there is regular reflective practice, bitesize training sessions and team huddles, all with the focus to develop and support our staff.

As a Trust we make a positive difference to thousands of peoples lives across Sussex and Hampshire, providing support so that they can fulfil their potential and enjoy healthy lives. We believe that staff who feel valued by the Trust and are truly engaged in the organisation deliver better outcomes for our patients and we are always looking for people with the right core values to join our team.
