Pet Brands provides retailers with pet industry insight, product innovation and quality, brand strength, retail understanding, category captainship. Currently we are recruiting for the role of Product & Graphic Designer for our offices in Goldthorpe.
Role - You will be responsible for working with the product team to fulfil this unique and varied role. You will take a brief and bring product ideas to life. You will need to be able to produce not only packaging graphics for printers to use but also strong visual mock-ups of future products for the Marketing Team to present to prospective buyers and for factories to use as a basis for sample production. This role requires high levels of creative initiative and advanced and efficient Photoshop and Illustrator skills.
The chosen candidate will be someone who is willing to take on a test brief to be considered alongside demonstrating a portfolio of work.
Essential
Skills / Experience:
Be confident with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
Creating realistic product mock-ups to present to prospective buyers: Able to use stock photos, textures and drawings and transform them into a brand-new product visualisation (and add shadows and highlights) while avoiding copying existing designs.
Able to seamlessly create photomontages to create lifestyle images.
Understanding of PMS (Pantone Matching System).
Strong recolouring and matching skills using Photoshop adjustment layers.
Advanced selection techniques.
Advanced airbrushing and cloning techniques.
Able to create new designs without breaching copyright law.
Able to meet both detailed and open briefs.
Experience working with Mac O.S.
Experience working with live creative briefs on a tight deadline.
A portfolio of previous work evidencing strong design instinct and a variety of work to meet different client types and briefs.
Confident applying new packaging designs to supplier’s cutter guides.
Sticking to detailed and strict brand guidelines when required.
Able to communicate directly with printers.
An understanding of Microsoft Office.
Able to create web graphics.
Branding and logo experience.

Desirable
Skills / Experience:
Have some experience with 3D product design.
At least 2 years’ experience working in a design studio.
Degree in graphic design, product Design or illustration.
Knowledge of product manufacturing types and printing processes.
Photography.
