product designer Remote

Augmenta (Canada)
Full Time Remote 10.56 - 12.04 CAD Today
Job description

We’ve already built and delivered incredible software, and now we need your help to develop our first product and deliver it to market.

The role

We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our team at Augmenta. You will own the user experience of our first product. You will work closely with product leadership and with our customers to define requirements and an ideal user experience, and will then work with our engineering team to ensure that experience is delivered as planned. This role reports to the Head of Product.

What you will do

  • Own the user experience for our first product as we grow from beta to a commercial, scalable product. Establish critical UX paradigms for our future products serving adjacent industries.
  • Work hand in hand with the product manager and technical leads to plan and prioritize new features.
  • Design flows and experiences that simplify complex requirements into usable interfaces. Work closely with our development team to ensure they are built to successfully meet the needs of our customers.
  • Plan and lead research activities with our current and future customers to understand their needs, identify opportunities, and how they’re using our products.
  • As we grow our design team, you will mentor and lead junior designers.

About you

  • 5+ years of professional design experience. You have led the design and overseen the execution of products or large features from start to finish.
  • Experience designing within complex customer and business domains - such as (but not limited to) engineering, architecture, business operations, finance, etc.
  • Experience planning and leading user research and workshops, from early conceptual discovery to validation of designs and features.
  • Ability to visualize and prototype intended solutions at various levels of fidelity, from high-level wireframes or mock-ups to conceptual presentations to highly technical documents and diagrams.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas to a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

Nice to have

These are the things you’re likely to work on, so if you have any experience in the following, great! If you don’t have experience in the following, we still encourage you to apply.

  • Experience working with or designing for Autodesk Revit.
  • Experience designing experiences for 3D modeling (ie. CAD) tools.
  • Exposure to the Architecture, Engineering and Construction industry.

Our Team and Perks

  • We are an open, collaborative, and supportive culture including skill shares, design critiques, and a bi-weekly reading group
  • We believe that employees should be owners, which is why we provide stock option grants for full time employees
  • We believe in support the health and wellbeing of our team, which is why we offer a competitive health benefits package
  • We believe in balance and taking time to rest and recharge, which is why we offer 4 weeks vacation to all full-time employees plus an extra week off at the end of December.
  • As a remote-first team, we believe in the importance of having the right set up, which is why we offer a home office budget
  • Learning and development is critical to us, which is why we have a self-directed learning budget

Our location

Our team is remote-first and fully distributed! We have team members across Canada, the US, Italy, and South Africa. This means that we often collaborate asynchronously via Slack and Video Conferencing.
