Job description
Cirrus Logic is looking for a summer intern to join our Edinburgh Procurement team! You will be aiding in the development and implementation of Procurement and Business Analytics software of all purchased good and services required to support the business. You will work closely as part of a multi-functional team to review and develop current and new Procurement practices as well as the implementation of Business Analytics software to improve the review and reporting capabilities for the team.
Responsibilities
- Develop an understanding of the procurement needs of the business.
- Assist in the review and revision of Procurement policy, procedures and training materials to identify and drive continuous improvement of Procurement processes, tools and overall operation efficiency.
- Work with a cross functional team to address all aspects of commodity management, including procurement support, commodity business plans, market trends assessments, pricing and product availability.
- Assist with defining and developing negotiation plans to acquire competitive pricing, terms and lead times.
- Analyse spend reports to identify where potential opportunities could be found.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Supply Chain Management or related field and/or equivalent related degree.
- Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills
- Strong report writing skills
- Familiarity of basic Procurement principals and awareness of factors that impact Procurement
- Excellent problem solving and analytical abilities
- Excellent working knowledge of in MS Office (specially Excel)
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Experience with analytical software packages
- Experience with working in an office environment
The internship will run from around June-August. Candidate must be available for full time employment during the internship period.
