HSBC Market & Securities Services (MSS) provides comprehensive global, regional and domestic fund services including fund administration, global custody and sub-custody settlement and services and sits within HSBC’s Global Banking & Markets (GBM) business. Private Asset Operations (PA Ops) sits within fund administration and provides administration and accounting services to private debt, real estate, infrastructure equity and private equity funds and their associated entities.
We are currently seeking a professional to join our team in the role of: Private Asset Specialist
A high-Level overview of the role is: to provide technical accounting oversight to our UK private asset book, involving direct and indirect real estate and infrastructure equity asset classes This will cover multiple fund ranges from ACS, PAIF’s, segregated mandates, insurance funds and SPV structures. You will be proactive in managing change and working on a standalone basis to investigate accounting queries across domiciles and also be involved in assisting with designing appropriate operating models and robust processes to embed within structures. A good client facing approach is essential.

The role has a hybrid working pattern allowing for home based and office-based working at HSBC offices at Lochside Way, Edinburgh You should be able to work from Edinburgh on a weekly basis
In this role you will:
- Provide input to accounting requirements across the asset class, fund structure and fund jurisdictions.
- Assist with new technology repercussions of integrating these asset classes into the operating model.
- Develop and maintain a good working relationship with client contacts and third parties such as audit firms, external technology providers and other third-party service providers.
- Continually re-assess the operational risks, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology.
To be successful, you should meet the following requirement
- Experience in preparing financial reports
- Experience in preparing statutory financial statements, management accounts, regulatory and VAT/CIS reports (desirable)
- Knowledge of Commercial Real Estate/infrastructure equity experience would be a benefit
- Working knowledge of Yardi and/or Investran is a desirable skill
- Evidence of working directly with clients in on/offline situations
- Being a Part Qualified or QBE Accountant would be an additional advantage
