We are looking to recruit a Primary Class Teacher to join our team here at Medeshamstede Academy on a permanent, full time basis
About the role:
Are you an inspirational Teacher who is passionate about enhancing the provision for children and young people with special educational needs? We are seeking to appoint a Teacher who is committed to providing a welcoming, stimulating learning experience for all the pupils at our academy. We are looking for a Teacher to join our Primary department where our curriculum is underpinned by a thematic approach to support our students to make connections in their learning.
To be successful you will be a creative, nurturing individual dedicated to ensuring that students’ needs are met, providing them with a positive learning journey and helping them to achieve their aspirations. You will need to have experience of adapting lessons to make them accessible to all pupils while ensuring a high level of challenge.
The academy uses the TEACCH approach to underpin the learning environment and curriculum delivery and you will be well supported to use this within your own practice.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Teacher who wishes to work in a unique environment. The role will expose you to challenging situations involving pupils with significant Special Educational Needs; therefore experience of working with students with Autism would be advantageous.
About us:
In return, you will work with inquisitive and enthusiastic students and you will join a team of committed staff who are dedicated to ensuring students are prepared for the years beyond education and are supported to pursue their dreams. The Medeshamstede Academy opened in a new building in June 2013 to provide education for students from 4- 16. There are currently 107 students on roll and they all have autism as their main presenting need. The Academy is on a rapid improvement journey and the new leadership team are working hard to ensure students receive the best education possible.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment. All posts will be subject to receipt of satisfactory enhanced DBS disclosure, medical and reference checks. All pre-employment checks are in line with "Keeping Children Safe in Education”
