The right candidate will have responsibility for developing and driving the Public Relations strategy across the Fridays® and 63rd + 1st Brands. This is a fantastic opportunity for the right person to take their career to the next level with a truly famous global brand.
This is a Remote role with occasional UK travel.
What will you be doing?
Reporting to the Marketing Director the key responsibilities will include:
- Ownership of the full PR strategy, ensuring key brand targets are monitored, reported and achieved
- Managing the PR Agencies to help deliver high impact and sales driving Brand and PR campaigns
- Building and enhancing Fridays®’ reputation through proactive and reactive public relations activities, ensuring strong media coverage
- Discovering PR opportunities and delivering media releases and other content
- Forging relationships with key media and influencers in print, digital and broadcast media
- Managing the Fridays® LinkedIn account ensuring all relevant content is published
- Supporting the marketing plans for all new store openings, ensuring optimal local awareness through PR activity
- Managing the response to potential ‘crisis’ situations and ‘press threats’ and contribute to the company business continuity and crisis communications plans
- Managing the relationships for our charity and football partnerships ensuring activation plans are brand and sales driving
- Attending and hosting media events as required
- Managing and developing the PR & Communications Assistant
About you
- A minimum of five years’ experience in the PR industry either in-house with experience of managing PR agencies, or within an agency
- Track record of developing and delivering communication strategies is desirable, as is experience of working closely with journalists and responding to media requests
- Strong understanding of the significance of PR and the role it plays as a Marcomms channel and ability to present a compelling case for PR investment
- Ability to organise and plan PR strategies together with the tactics needed to achieve business ambitions and demonstrate success
- Excellent interpersonal skills for developing relationships with media representatives, handling challenging situations and advising senior leaders
- Able to work flexibly to support business needs such as: willingness to travel, attending evening events, socialising and networking with journalists, and be on call in the event of any crisis situations
- Have previous team management experience
- Passion and experience within the casual dining sector
Key Skills
- Excellent writing and editing skills and the ability to write compelling and creative copy
- Excellent speaking and presentation skills with a creative, collaborative, positive and can-do approach
- Strong IT skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other essential reporting / monitoring systems
Qualifications
- Degree in either English, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or Journalism
- Desired: professional accreditation with PR bodies such as CIPR or PRCA
