Job Title -Porter- Accident & Emergency

Hours per week-37.5 Hours Per Week

Perm/Fixed Term - Permanent

Salary-£22,383 per annum

The main duty of the post holder is to take calls for assistance from wards – departmentsprovide a portering service to all wards and departments, to carry out routine ADHOC duties - dealing with all enquiries and deliveries -booking transport for wards – departments.

Dealing with enquiries and complaints.

Liaising with thenurse in charge of emergency department and operational manager

To provide a portering service to all wards & departments. To escort and convey patients by wheelchair, bed or trolley

To distribute food trolleys and boxes – and food items

To transfer various specimens or bloods to the pathology department and other wards and departments

To collect prescriptions and drug books from wards and departments and deliver them to the Pharmacy department

To distribute and change medical gas cylinders as requested

To assist at cardiac arrests

To transport records, X-rays, furniture, equipment and materials

To report any suspicious incidents and assist where necessary

When required, assist with low level security requests

Work within emergency department
