Salary: £29,500 to £31,500 per annum plus shift allowance and Veolia benefits

Hours: 12 hour shift 2 days, 2 nights, 4 off (18 days off every 7 weeks)

Location: Grangemouth

What you'll be doing;

  • Working as part of the team providing 24/7 operations, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the boiler facility.
  • Operate the steam generating plant, compressor plant, water demineralisation plant, cooling towers, steam distribution and pressure control systems, fuel supply systems, hard, soft and treated water distribution systems.
  • Assist in the operational control of the plant, correct and report any abnormalities or faults, record plant performance and carry out routine operational duties to maintain the plant in serviceable order at all times (24/7).
  • Complete reports, logs, data collection and handovers accurately and to the required schedule.
  • Carry out unsupervised routine maintenance, remedial work and maintenance of an immediate nature
  • Carry out analysis each shift of boiler feed water, treated water and boiler blow down to maintain water quality.
  • Partake in annual shutdown activities, assisting with the stripping and rebuilding of boiler components.
  • Monitor and control safe working (including PTW) within the designated area.
  • Compliance with Company’s Health and Safety, quality and environmental policies.
  • Ensure day to day compliance with all aspects of the Environmental Permit.

What we're looking for;

Ideally, we are looking for someone with industrial boiler experience, however, if you have appropriate experience in a similar field we would be keen to hear from you.

Essential:

  • IT literate demonstrating good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with an ability to balance a varied workload and re-prioritise in response to changing business needs and unexpected problems.
  • An in depth knowledge of Health & Safety practices
  • Excellent communication skills and team mentality
  • The willingness to undertake training to better understand the plant, processes and procedures involved in operating a power station

Desirable:

  • A technical background from working in a similar environment.
  • Boiler Operations Accreditation Scheme (BOAS) Qualification
  • Extensive experience of working with industrial steam boilers
  • Medium Risk Confined Space
  • Health and Safety qualifications, risk assessment, method statement training,
  • Competence in issuing and use of Permit to Work systems would be preferential, however, training will be provided
