An exciting and rewarding opportunity has arisen for a motivated Health Care Assistant to join our Outpatient Departments within the LLR Alliance. The post will be based Melton Alliance Community Hospitals (and Rutland Memorial Hospital OPD)
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic individual to join our existing team who are passionate about delivering high quality patient centered care. You will have the opportunity to develop new skills and consolidate existing skills whilst working as part of a strong and cohesive team.
Melton Outpatients offer diverse, multi-disciplinary environments which cater for a number of specialties which includes, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Gastroenterology, Cardiology, Dermatology, Rheumatology, Gynaecology and ENT.
You will need excellent communication skills and the ability to build and maintain good working relationships with your colleagues and service users.
Although your base will be Melton Hospital there may be times where you will be expected to travel across site and help cover at one of the other Alliance hospitals. These are Coalville, Loughborough, Rutland Memorial, Hinckley and St Luke’s Treatment Centre in Market Harborough. Therefore ability to travel between sites and be a car driver is essential for the role.
- Provide clinical and non clinical support to the multi professional team under the direction and supervision of an appropriate Registered Health Care Professional within the Outpatients Departments.
- Deliver direct and indirect care as delegated under the direction and supervision of an appropriate Registered Health Care Professional.
- Undertake specific duties involving direct and indirect care as identified by the multi professional team to support the delivery of effective healthcare to patients/ service users.

- You will need to have healthcare experience, excellent communication skills, positive personality and a mature and professional approach to their work.
- Computer skills are essential.
- You must be able to deal with the public in a sensitive and polite manner, and be flexible in their approach to duties of work.
- Undertake specified direct and indirect care, clinical and therapeutic duties as delegated by the Registered Nurse /Health Care Professional.
- Carry out specified delegated clinical care and support, consistent with the patient/users plan of care.
- Provide clinical and non clinical support to the multi professional team under the direction and supervision of an appropriate Registered Health Care Professional within the Outpatients Departments.
- Assist with the maintenance of a clean and safe environment adhering to infection control policies procedures and best practice.
- Assist with the collection of simple data for audit/research and other purposes as delegated by the Registered Nurse/Health Care Professional/Multi Disciplinary Team.
