Role – Pharmacy Technician / Accuracy Checking Technician
Location – Coalville
Salary – £12.50 - £14.50 per hour

Role
An exciting opportunity to join our Clinical Team at our new facilities in Bardon as a Accuracy Checking Technician. To be considered for this position it is essential that you have gained an Accuracy Checking Technician qualification and that you are registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council. The successful applicant will have ideally worked within a pharmacy environment for a minimum of 2 years.
The role will involve supporting members of the team to improve their performance and learn new tasks. You will support new staff members during their training period, and to ensure all staff are trained to NVQ level 2.
- Support supervisors to get all staff trained to NVQ 2
- Flexibility to work with all shifts if necessary to observe / audit / coach specific teams or individuals
- Work in harmony with the existing management team and as part of it, in a consultatory role
- Assist the Bardon team with new staff inductions, and review and contribute to the material used in inductions
- Assist the team with clinical audits, against NHS England and GPhC standards for registered pharmacies and distance selling pharmacies (DSPs), and pre-inspection criteria, to ensure we are always inspection ready. For both Pharmacy2U and Chemist Direct.
- Assist the superintendent/clinical team in dealing with concerns from regulators or patients relating to orders processed at Bardon, including dispensing incident investigations
- Regularly reviewing dispensing incidents (near misses and external errors) originating at Bardon, assisting the team with action points and reviews, liaising with the superintendent's team; to ensure a culture of continuous quality improvement and to reduce error rates
- Knowledge of the operational processes within Pharmacy2U and Chemist Direct, and then to review and maintain risk assessments for all processes to ensure they are safe and risks are mitigated to an acceptable level
- Proactively monitor staff adherence to our SOPs and standards, and provide feedback where necessary
- Oversight of the medicine repacking process and regularly review the checking procedure for accuracy
- Act as a first port of call for any queries relating to regulatory or clinical standards
- Support the Pharmacy2U clinical team with the checking of new product setups for both the Pharmacy2U and Chemist Direct teams
- Support the Bardon team with controlled drug processes: prescription checking, stock checking, governance, and reviewing procedures when introduced
Skills
To be considered for this position it is essential that you have gained an Accuracy Checking Technician qualification or Pharmacy Technician with the ACT module and that you are registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council. The successful applicant will have ideally worked within a pharmacy environment for a minimum of 2 years.
