As a Barclays Personal Assistant this is an exciting opportunity where you will be providing extensive support to dedicated senior leader(s) (managing director and/or director level), including diary & mailbox management, organisation of meetings and events and administrative support, being the main point of contact for the immediate and wider teams. We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. Please discuss the detail of the working pattern options for the role with the hiring manager.
What will you be doing?
• Having a close working relationship with line managers and their teams
- Managing the diaries for two Industry Directors in scheduling and managing appointments
- Establishing and maintaining good relationships with corporate banking leaders and their Coverage teams to always ensure positive interaction
- Handling and supporting Day to day support for team members in terms of client events and room bookings
- Managing the schedule with good forward planning: e.g., upcoming weeks are regularly reviewed, and leader is clear on purpose and attendees of meetings
- Scheduling meetings and events; managing the needs of internal and external stakeholders, exploring cost effective options
- Ensuring smooth running of meetings chaired by leader by making suitable arrangements for room bookings, conference call⁄ video facilities and catering
- Compiling agendas, prepare briefs, attend a wide variety of meetings, take, and transcribe minutes and undertake any necessary follow up tasks
What we’re looking for:
- Understanding of the objectives of the leader’s areas of responsibilities, current and future work⁄ projects undertaken, to provide the required level of support
- Good communicator written and oral; ability to provide directions to others; ability to deal with people competently and confidently at all levels
- Experience and understanding in office management; well-organised and structured, ability to plan and prioritise workload of self and of dedicated leader effectively
- Ability to influence an internal stakeholder network, managing expectations and influencing seniors, balancing different requirements effectively
• Experience in supporting senior stakeholders and exposure to senior executives across the Barclays group as well as large companies⁄ PLCs in the national market
- Exceptional experience and understanding in customer service
- Technical ability using a range of IT systems: Microsoft office, expenses, HR systems SAP & Coupa
- Understanding of financial services industry/ corporate banking is advantageous

In the heart of Canary Wharf, our headquarters at Churchill Place boasts onsite amenities such as; a gym, staff restaurant and deli bar, and is easily accessible by tube and bus links.
