Job Purpose
The Payroll Administrator for Drive Shack and Puttery Brands plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, maintaining compliance with payroll laws and regulations, and providing exceptional service to employees. By diligently managing payroll operations, this role contributes to the smooth functioning of the organization and the financial well-being of its employees. You will work closely with the HR department and other stakeholders to ensure smooth payroll operations and provide exceptional customer service to employees regarding payroll-related inquiries.
Responsibilities
- Collect, review, and verify timekeeping records, bonuses, commissions, overtime, and other payroll-related data.
- Accurately calculate wages, salaries, deductions, and withholdings, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
- Prepare and process payroll through the designated system, maintaining a high level of data accuracy and confidentiality.
- Resolve any discrepancies or issues related to payroll processing in a timely manner.
Compliance and Reporting:
Stay updated on federal, state, and local payroll-related laws and regulations, ensuring compliance in all payroll activities.- Prepare and submit accurate payroll tax reports, including quarterly and annual filings, ensuring compliance with government requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports related to payroll, including expense accruals and labor cost analysis.
Record Maintenance and Audits:
- Maintain accurate employee payroll records, ensuring confidentiality and data security.
- Prepare and distribute pay stubs, W-2 forms, and other payroll-related documents as required.
- Collaborate with auditors during internal and external audits, providing necessary payroll documentation and support.
Employee Support and Communication:
- Respond promptly and professionally to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and other related matters.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing and resolving payroll-related issues or concerns.
- Educate employees on payroll-related policies, procedures, and self-service tools.
Qualifications:
Skills/Personal Characteristics
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficient in using payroll software/systems and a high level of computer literacy.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve payroll discrepancies.
- Ability to work with sensitive and confidential information while maintaining utmost discretion and integrity.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and provide exceptional customer service to employees.
- Self-motivated and well-organized with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
- Solid understanding of payroll laws, regulations, and tax requirements.
Qualifications
- Proven work experience as a Payroll Administrator or in a similar role, preferably in a multi-unit or hospitality environment.
- Must have experience with ADP Workforce Now, in a hospitality environment that involves tipped employees, and multiple file uploads.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll laws, regulations, and tax requirements.
- Proficiency in payroll software/systems; experience with ADP or similar platforms is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
Working Conditions
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Standard working hours are typically Monday to Friday, although occasional flexibility may be required during peak periods.
- The role involves sitting for extended periods and utilizing a computer for data entry and calculations.
- The Payroll Administrator may occasionally need to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
