An exciting opportunity has become available for a Payroll Advisor to join our busy Payroll Team within Derby City Council.


About the role
The areas of responsibilities include processing monthly payroll for employees across the various locations within the city, completing the full employee life cycle from setting up new starters, leavers, changes, pension forms, dealing with both employee and third-party queries and maintaining up to date information on all HMRC / Ni Guidelines, issuing P45's and processing other relevant forms.


What skills and experience are we looking for?

  • A grade C or above in Maths and English or equivalent
  • Strong IT Skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to deal with both Employees and Managers at different levels in a professional manner
  • Ability to work under pressure and flexibly to ensure all deadlines are met
  • Proven Payroll / Administration and Pensions experience
  • Knowledge of both Payroll Legislation and Pension Schemes
