An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Directorate of Transformation and Sustainability for a Digital Engagement and Media Officer on a fixed term basis for two years.
This role will shape the development of a Digital Media Team within the organisation. The main role will be to lead on multi-media production and social media management across NHS Ayrshire & Arran. Producing content for a range of channels and supporting the delivery of our new website. .
You will play a key role in supporting and delivering our increasingly important work in digital communications – with particular focus on our website, social media, video, podcast, marketing and online engagement platforms.
Do you have tried and tested ways of maximising content to ensure it is seen by as many people as possible and encourages engagement? If so, this could be the role for you.
Educated to degree level (e.g. Public Relations, Digital Media, Journalism), or equivalent qualification or knowledge base, you will have solid experience within an engagement or communications role with extensive media relations and social media experience including blogs, Facebook, Twitter, etc., as well as knowledge and understanding of emerging new digital media.
Ideally you will have experience of working in the NHS or similar public sector organisation (e.g. local authority/third sector) and a good understanding of the infrastructure of the NHS in Scotland.
You will have a working knowledge of developing, maintaining and improving web site content and be able to collate and analyse information/data and present in a meaningful and easily understood way. You will have highly developed communication and relationship building skills with strong written and presentation skills; effective leadership, facilitation, negotiation and influencing skills; be proficient in the use of Information Technology and be able to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
