Payroll/HR Administrator

Working within the HR Shared Service team, you will be responsible for ensuring all colleagues are paid correctly and on time, providing relevant administrative support in relation to Human Resources and Employee Benefits.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up to date knowledge of all UK tax compliance and legislation in line with running a compliant payroll service
- Provide payroll processing and administration support for the full Colleague lifecycle from recruitment to termination including an understanding of all payroll activities ensuring payments are made on time
- Liaise with authorities and legal bodies in connection with payment of court orders, tax credits etc
- Create reports to collect all information from clocking systems for basic hours worked, overtime and anomalies. Supporting in business audits as required by providing timely and accurate people data
- Responsible for accurate input of data into all HR systems
- Completion of all Year End activities
- Assist the Reward & Benefits Manager in the implementing of new processes where necessary
- Provide monthly payroll reports to the HR Team and Finance
- Transfer details and submit reports to accounts department (monthly, yearly & ad-hoc)
- General office duties to support smooth running of HR department
- Deal with general enquiries from colleagues and managers for general HR and payroll issues, as per the requirements of the HR Shared Service function (monitoring all shared mailboxes and telephones)
- To carry out any other tasks commensurate with this post

Ingredients that you bring with you:
- Previous experience within a medium sized Payroll function with good knowledge of payroll legislation
- Ability to motivate self to achieve deadlines
- First class communication and customer service skills
- Advanced levels of Microsoft Office suite (particularly Word and Excel)
- Previous knowledge of Mitrefinch would be desirable (or similar TMS/Payroll database)
- A positive attitude with good energy and enthusiasm!

Working Hours:
This role is 38 hours per week, on a hybrid basis working across our Pontefract and Castleford sites.
