Role: Laboratory Technician

Laboratory Technician, Geotechnical and Geo-Environmental Specialists based in Coventry, Salary competitive dependent on experience.

Founded in 1983, The Company is now one of the largest independent geotechnical specialists in the UK. Operating initially from our head office in Coventry we can take on projects across the UK delivering high quality geo-technical and geo-environmental investigations and advisory services.

As a Laboratory Technician, you will be happy to follow strict protocols and processes, embrace health and safety, as well as ensure that all data is accurately recorded and completed on time for the client. You’ll have a willingness to learn and focus on delivering a quick and accurate service to our clients.

This position allows the opportunity to gain a wealth of knowledge and experience on material testing whilst benefitting from a clear progression path and pay banding structure.

This is a full-time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Laboratory Technician Main Duties:

· Learning and developing skills to become a competent Laboratory Technician.

· Building Health & Safety (H&S) knowledge to ensure all processes undertaken adhere to H&S regulations whilst working in the Laboratory.

· Working in a safe manner that is in accordance with the Company Health & Safety Policy.

· Completing test sheets and ensure all data is captured accurately.

· Building skills to support with core Laboratory tests under the direction of a Senior Technician or Laboratory Supervisor.

· Ensuring the confidentiality of all customer information obtained or created during the performance of laboratory activities, except as required by law.

· Ensuring any testing equipment or tools are cleaned after each test.

· Ensuring that the laboratory working areas are safe, clean and tidy environments in which to work.

· Carrying out allocated work in accordance with documented in-house procedures, in an expeditious manner.

· Integrating into the team and maintain a strong harmony and morale throughout the laboratory.

· Performing other duties and responsibilities as required by your line manager.

Laboratory Technician Necessary Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

· Willingness to learn and develop skills and knowledge through work based skills

· Methodical and logical in approach to work.

· Numerate and literate.

· Strong attention to detail.

· Punctual with good attitude and work ethic.

· Team player, ability to work well with others.
