About the department

We are now searching for a dedicated Pattern Cutter to join our world leading Design team based in London. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Pattern Cutter to create complex patterns; working closely with our factories to develop the shape of each collection.


Main responsibilities

  • Making first patterns based on photo reference of a garment, existing garment or a sketch
  • Amend existing patterns
  • Trace a garment and apply changes; Execute fitting reports Organize and create the sealing samples for the factories
  • Ensure all samples/garments are constructed using most appropriate and efficient method
  • Work to critical path, sealing and manufacturing deadlines
  • Working at a fast pace, in tune with a quick reaction, high turnaround
  • Being involved in fit process from start to finish where required, overseeing physical and digital fittings, make comments from the pattern perspective, Grades, PP samples and Gold seals
  • Make clear technical comments to the factory where necessary
  • Work closely with the machinists, tech and design teams as well as with the head of pattern room and PD
  • Undertaking quality evaluations of materials and checking the quality of the final product, advise changes on functionality accordingly
  • Experience in a similar technical role focusing on womenswear, including pattern making for corsets and dresses
  • Understanding of pattern/size grading (specifically lingerie and bra-cup grading

  • Good working knowledge of Gerber/Lectra pattern-making software

  • In-depth understanding ofdifferent fabric shape and fit, i.e jersey, wovens etc.

  • Excellent time management and organisation skills

  • Strong communicator

  • Confident working in a fast-paced environment and able to prioritise projects

  • Proactive and keen to take on new task

  • Part-time hours for 3 days a week until April 2023
