What we need from you
We are a growing business and we have recently restructured and are looking for a skilled Patisserie Assistant to join our team. You will need to have experience in producing premium quality desserts such as: all butter and sweet pastry tarts and sponge batters, for premium desserts and luxury puddings.
· Being a team player is essential.
· Being practical and keen to do a job well is essential, if you are highly motivated to produce work to a high standard individually, this quality is recognised and valued.
· There is manual handling involved, good physical health is an advantage as this work will require you to work standing up for long periods of time, and lift and carry heavy equipment.
· Evidence of recent Food Safety and Health and Safety training that is compliant is an advantage.
This role will provide the right individual with the opportunity for job enrichment to adopt a leadership role within the business, on our bakery line. If you have previous managerial or supervisory experience, please provide information on your CV, this can be explored on interview.
Key Tasks:
What follows is an outline of duties required of this position. This document is not a comprehensive or exclusive list and duties may vary from time to time which do not change the general character of the job or the level of responsibility.
- To meet set production targets as directed by the Production Manager/Shift supervisor.
- To produce products to the standard and specification required.
- To follow established procedures to always ensure consistency and quality of the product.
- Ensure food safety standards are adhered to and maintained.
- Be aware of own responsibilities in relation to hazard control, health and safety, and personal and production hygiene
- To work as part of the production team.
- To select and use appropriate stock, with due consideration for health, safety, and hygiene. In doing so, demonstrating awareness of pest infestation, damaged or faulty stock, and ‘Best before’, or ‘Use by’ dates.
- To rotate stock and to use in correct date order.
- To use all equipment and machinery in the correct manner, reporting any problems through the correct channels.
- To operate a ‘clean as you go’ method of work to maintain safety within the workplace.
- To clean down the whole work area at the end of each shift, using correct products and methods.
- To complete all necessary documentation to comply with technical/production guidelines.

Salary: £12.00 - shouldan applicant be considering relocating; we are willing to discuss a relocation package.
Hours of work: this role will require the individual to work:40 hrs per week, Monday to Friday 3pm - 11.30pm.
