Job description
Country Kennels Gloucester ltd are seeking seasonal AND Weekend kennel assistants to join our small close-knit family run business.
Candidate requirements
-Over 16 years of age
-Have a genuine love of dogs of every shape and size
-A sense of humour
-A Keen willingness to learn
-Reliable
-Hard working
-Willing to take instruction
Experience in the animal industry is a bonus but not essential as all on the job training will be provided. Kennel work is not glamorous, it is hard work but highly rewarding one when you build a relationship with our returning clients.
Shift and work schedule
Candidates should be willing to work both weekends and weekday shifts during peak season (school holidays etc) and work a combination of both morning and afternoon shifts during the 7 day week. We run a shift pattern with morning and afternoon Shifts, there is no leniency on shift timings they are set around our boarding dogs needs.
AM= 8.30-10.30 PM= 2.00-6.00PM
Job description
We are situated in a rural location, so a driving licence is required as we are not on regular a bus route.
Duties include:
-Exercising boarding dogs
-preparing and administering feeds
-cleaning and maintaining kennels and the kennel environment
-Husbandry tasks for all animals in our care
-Providing 1-2-1 love and affection for our boarders to make their stay an enjoyable one
Wage
under 18 £5.26 p/h
18-20 £7.49 p/h
21-22 £10.18 p/h
23+ £10.42 p/h
