This will be to work in the Emergency Department to work under the direction of the nurse in charge of ED and to undertake roles in triage and the rapid assessment unit
You will also have the opportunity to work in the wider department at times utilising your skills within ambulatory care or majors subject to assessment and sign off within the department.
Main duties of the job
Undertake the full range of paramedic duties in line with the Trusts operational instructions.
Undertake a range of duties in line with paramedic scope of practice in line with Trust policies and procedures.
Assess, stream and commence initial investigations following local guidance, according to the nature and severity of their condition .and collaborate with nursing and medical teams to ensure evidence-based provision of care
Participate in the development of an integrated approach to the delivery of emergency and urgent care involving all relevant stakeholders including health and social care organisations.
Use their clinical ability and experience to monitor patients for deterioration and escalate as appropriate in line with NEWS2 and clinical concern
Using Advantis ED (following training) to record observations and document care. Evidence of Manchester triage system training (MTS) will be required and after local induction/ training on current streaming pathways within ED.
Administer medication using Advantis ED and in line with trust medicines management policy. (Following training)
Undertake necessary investigations as required such as venepuncture, cannulation, and ECG
Escalation of deterioration of the patient in line with Stockport’s NHS Foundation Trust policies

Qualifications
Essential
- To be successful in applying for this role you will need:

- HCPC registered paramedic
- Up to date continuing professional development portfolio
Evidence of Manchester system triage training ( MTS)
Evidence of paramedic studies ( DipHE/Bsc)
Experience

- Experience in dealing with a diverse range of people in a customer/patient environment
- 2 years post registration experience in clinical practice,
