THE OPPORTUNITY
- Conducting research, including regarding legal and/or technical subject matter;
- Summarising IP-specific documents and other information for associates and partners;
- Assisting during and in follow-up from hearings/trials, including with preparation of court documents, bundles and correspondence, filing and service of documents, assisting with evidence preparation and trial/hearing attendance;
- Liaising with counsel and responding to requests for documents from third parties;
- Document management and database management;
- Assisting with cyber security mandates, such as before-the-event incident response planning and dealing with incidents when they arise (including in particular coordinating international legal advice that might be required);
- Assisting with the team's business development activities on IP and cyber.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Undergraduate degree (ideally 2.1 or equivalent);
- Demonstrable paralegal experience is preferred, with a preference for Disputes/IP;
- An interest in IP/cyber work and the underlying technology;
- Any technical qualification in e.g. science or engineering desirable but not essential;
- Extensive IT abilities, to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel (intermediate level), Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Strong attention to detail and a focus on providing quality client service to your internal stakeholders.

Working within the busy Intellectual Property and Cyber & Data Security teams, with a particular focus on work in the life sciences and technology industries, this role provides support to the litigation and transactional teams under the supervision of the IP team's experienced Legal Assistant.
This role presents an exciting opportunity for an ambitious paralegal with ample scope for growth and the longer term potential to take on the management of their own caseload.
Candidates with an interest or background in IP/IT/Science/Technology may find this position of particular interest, as will candidates interested in cutting edge scientific and bio-technology breakthroughs, as well as the ever evolving cyber risk.
