PARALEGAL

Several excellent opportunities have arisen for Commercial Property Paralegals to join our successful and expanding Commercial property team based in Mansfield.

Full time Hours - Permanent Contract.

Commencement date: immediate start (Dependant on Notice period).

Hours of business are: Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 5.00 pm

The Role

The position would suit someone who has previous experience in working on and supporting fee earners on all aspects of Commercial property law transactions, although, applications received from inexperienced candidates who possess a strong academic background including GCSE 4/C or equivalent in English and Mathematics who have a strong desire to develop within the role will also be considered as a thorough training programme will be provided.

The role will require you to be hard working, highly organised, with excellent communication/customer service and IT skills. Attention to detail is important within this position where you should be able to keep meticulous records and accounts. Adaptability to work as part of a team whilst prioritising workloads/meeting deadlines is essential to this position. You should also be able to demonstrate commitment and drive in delivering a high-quality service at all times.

Training & Development

Successful candidates should possess a genuine desire and interest to gain new skills and legal knowledge. Following completion of the probationary period, as part of the Company’s staff development planning, candidates may also be considered to undertake a more formal training programme, whereby the Company will provide the opportunity and support to pursue training courses leading to a first-rate legal qualification and career.

Key Duties:

  • Working on files as delegated by the Head of Department or Supervisor.
  • Preparation, completion and maintenance of documents and systems in accordance with the firm’s procedures.
  • Carrying out email and telephone contact with clients on routine matters and information exchange.
  • Dealing with new client enquiries.
  • Preparing and submitting SDLT Returns and HM Land Registry applications.
  • Reviewing title and property documents and preparing contract packs.
  • Research.
  • Dealing with any administrative or accounts queries.
  • File Closing.
  • Any other duties as required.

Knowledge, Experience and/or Skills:

  • 2+ years’ experience in working on and supporting fee earners on all aspects of Commercial Property law transactions/matters is preferred.
  • Possess a strong academic background including GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Mathematics is essential.
  • Possess a keen desire to develop within the role is essential.
  • Good IT knowledge including Microsoft Word and Outlook is essential.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and customer service skills is essential.
  • Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines is essential.
  • Ability to work as part of a team is essential.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail is essential.
