Job description
Our client is looking to recruit a Credit Controller to join their busy and committed team in Shoreham. The successful candidate will be responsible for working alongside the Credit Control Manager to deliver exceptional customer service to customers, ensuring efficient collections and dealing with incoming billing queries as they arise.
The ideal candidate will be a calm and confident individual, with proven credit control experience and an excellent telephone manner. You should have strong customer service skills, excellent attention to detail and strong critical thinking skills.
This role offers a competitive salary on a permanent, full-time basis.
Responsibilities
- Managing part of a large ledger of over 1200 accounts
- Building a rapport and liaising with clients regarding outstanding payments and agree a deadline in accordance with the time frames set
- Identifying and analysing root causes for delays in collections of debt
- Responsible for requesting restriction of services and decide whether to start legal action
- Reconciliations
- Negotiating payment plans with customers
- Promptly logging client queries and assigning them to the relevant department
- Answering queries directly where possible
Requirements
- Credit control experience
- Excellent communication, customer service and interpersonal skills
- Excellent telephone manner
- Able to demonstrate excellent attention to detail
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Ability to listen to customers and negotiate winning solutions
- Calm, confident manner to handle potentially uncomfortable conversations
- Self-starter who can drive cash collection and influence customers / internal colleagues
- Telco industry experience desirable (not essential!)
- Experience within an Accounts Receivable department
