Packing and Checking Operative (twilight shift)
We have created a vacancy for a Packing and Checking Operative at our local precision engineering company for a practical and careful person to join the finishing and dispatch team on a permanent basis as the business prepares for growth over the coming years.

We have been supplying specialist precision engineered products to a variety of industries for many years from our modern facility in Tewkesbury, which is commutable from Gloucester, Cheltenham, Worcester, Evesham and surrounding areas.
In current times of uncertainty we have have continued to go from strength to strength. We are long established, we have an impressive list of loyal clients and long term partnerships with our customers across the UK and we are now considering employing two additional Packing and Checking Operatives to join the small finishing and dispatch department to continue to manage with the increasing demand as the company continues to grow.
In this role you will be based in a modern, clean and tidy engineering workshop environment where you will be involved in operating light automated machines, visually checking the quality of our finished products, counting them into batches and packing them carefully to be sent to our valued customers.

Job Title: Packing and Checking Operative
Working Hours: Twilight shift working four evenings/nights per week Monday to Thursday. Three days off every week on Friday, Saturday and Sunday
Pay: £30,200 - £31,500 + very good benefits package
Location: Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire
Contract type: Permanent

Roles & Responsibilities for Packing and Checking Operative
Operate light automated machines
Carry out visual quality checks on small, light products (full training will be provided)
Prepare and pack products ready for dispatch
Highlight quality issues or inconsistencies to the team leader
This can be a repetitive job so you'll need to be able to concentrate for long periods of the evening/night, always taking pride in the work you’re doing.
You will be part of a wider department so your tasks will vary through the week.
Carry out any associated duties as needed
You’ll be joining a small team, so you'll be welcomed and full training will be given (no experience necessary)
Skills & Experience for Packing and Checking Operative
You’ll ideally have some experience of working in a manufacturing environment or similar although we can consider applications from people with different experience who are capable of picking up the skills needed
You'll need to be happy to operate light equipment
You will have a safe and courteous approach to work
This can be a fast-paced job, working with a high volume of products, so your experience of working in a similar environment will help
You’ll be willing to learn, you'll be self-motivated and committed to doing a great job
You don't necessarily need any experience for this job but you will need a good eye for detail
