Extracellular is a Bristol based start-up aiming to be a global leader in sustainable biotechnology.
We're channeling expertise in biology, digitalisation and biomanufacturing to accelerate cultivated meat and seafood as a sustainable, ethical source of protein. We’re building really cool development and scale-up capabilities, which we'll use to help dozens of companies hit their R&D targets, and we’re going to try to save the planet!
The Role
We're looking for an enthusiastic researcher who's keen to use their scientific understanding to gain some experience with cell culture and to develop sustainable solutions for the planet using biotechnology.
We have up to 3 positions available from March-June 2023 on a full-time or part-time basis, in our labs in Bristol, UK.
The role will be lab-based and we will train you in techniques including:
- Adherent and suspension cell cultures.
- Analytical techniques including qPCR, flow cytometry, and other basic analytical techniques.
- Bioreactor principles for mammalian cultures.
- Safe working practices in a life science lab.
The Candidate Profile
- You should have studied or be studying a STEM subject to bachelors or masters level.
- You'll need excellent organisational skills and a great attention to detail .
- You'll need to be a genuine team-player who asks for help when it's needed and offers help when it isn't.
- You'll need to be comfortable with ambiguity and proactive in finding ways to move forward. You'll see failure as a learning opportunity.
