Job description
THIS IS A RE-ADVERTISEMENT. PREVIOUS APPLICANTS NEED NOT APPLY.
We are seeking an experimental scientist to support our activities as a partner in The Sir Henry Royce Institute (The Royce). A particular focus is in hands-on support of research in electrochemical systems (ES), for example in energy storage and for production, transportation, and usage of hydrogen and associated carriers. Royce facilitates access for industry and external university collaborators to state-of-the-art equipment and the post holder will co-ordinate and provide that access. The role provides an opportunity to be involved in collaborative science driving multiple leading-edge technologies central to the energy transition.
The post is available immediately and is fixed-term until 31 March 2027.
With a background in materials science or chemistry you will be self-motivated, able to plan and support multiple visitors and collaborators. You will have a MSc, BSc or possibly a PhD in Materials/Chemistry and experience in electrochemical systems, and operation of multi-user research facilities.
The Royce is a UK wide institute with multiple partners working in collaboration to support the UK materials community.
All applications must be made online using the Oxford University E-Recruitment system, no later than 12 noon on 11 April 2023. You will be required to upload a CV and a Supporting Statement, and if desired a brief contextual statement, as part of your application. Please do not attach any manuscripts, papers, transcripts, mark sheets or certificates as these will not be considered as part of your application.
Interviews are scheduled to take place shortly after the closing date and you must be available during this time, either by Teams, Zoom or in person. Please note in normal circumstances only interview travel expenses within the UK will be reimbursed.
