We need a Tourist Information Centre (TIC) Customer Advisor for Bridlington TIC, to give tourism advice and help customers get the most out of their visit to East Yorkshire by providing an efficient and effective tourist information service.
Hours and days of work will vary seasonally due to customer demand. You will work 20 hours over 3 or 4 days per week during April to September and during October to March, you will work 12 hours over 2 days per week.
You will be required to work every Saturday throughout the year and cover bank holidays, staff holidays and sickness, therefore a flexible approach is essential.
Duties include providing a first-class tourist information service and respond to all customer enquiries. Promoting and upselling the East Yorkshire Tourism offer to customers. Maintaining storage and display of retail and promotional material. Generating income by retail, tickets, and service sales, including cash handling, cash returns and banking. Undertaking the collection, collation, updating, research, data inputting of tourist information, TIC statistical data and maintain records on TIC systems.
Excellent communication skill, excellent customer care and experience of dealing with a variety of customers, specialist tourism knowledge of Bridlington and the East Yorkshire area, good standard of education, excellent ICT skill with experience of researching data, data input and retrieval are essential.
Teamwork also plays a vital role within our service; therefore, you should be friendly, enthusiastic and be able to use your initiative whilst working to a consistently high standard.
This position will involve working alone, report to the TIC Supervisor and be part of a small but perfectly formed team that delivers a high level of customer service to boost the value and volume of visits to Bridlington and East Yorkshire
